Course Description

This course is intended to develop reading, speaking and writing skills of students in German language. Is a beginner level course. The main goal is to be able to learn how to navigate through daily activities in a German-speaking environment. Each session contains a dialog, vocabulary, grammar notes and drills.

Course Objectives

The objective of this course is to develop reading, speaking and writing skills of students in German language. Level A1 is the lowest level of language use according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). At this level GFL learners should acquire basic communication skills (listening, reading, speaking and writing) in dealing with everyday life situations.

Learning Outcomes
  1. Listening Comprehension: Students should be able to understand simple spoken German when people speak slowly and clearly about familiar topics.
  2. Reading Comprehension: Students will learn to read and understand short, simple texts, such as advertisements, schedules, and personal letters.
  3. Speaking Skills: The course will develop the ability to engage in simple conversations, ask and answer questions about familiar topics, and express basic needs or preferences.
  4. Writing Skills: Students will learn to write short simple messages, such as filling out forms with personal information, writing postcards, or short notes
